Assignment Title: 1260798 - Data Collection for the Youth Employment Programs Study in Bangladesh
Bangladesh's performance in human capital investment is impressive as evidenced by its achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG). However, the pace of poverty reduction and the rate of job creation have slowed since 2010 despite continued growth, and studies show that youth bore the brunt of the negative consequences. Bangladesh needs more concerted effort to improve the labor market outcomes for youth. For this, better understanding of both demand and supply side constraints to productive employment of young individuals is required.
The Youth Employment Study aims to understand the relative importance of different elements of a set of labor market programs being implemented by the Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation. The research team currently seeks data collection services from a survey firm in Bangladesh to conduct a tracer study of these programs to obtain lessons for future program design.
