National Works Agency invites tenders for the project
The Government of Jamaica intends to carry out Channel Maintenance (clean/de-silt) Activities in the Channel of the Cane River in St. Andrew, Jamaica by having private entities doing the silt removal and owning the material that is won. The entity offering the GOJ the highest price for the material to be won will be given the opportunity to execute the maintenance exercise.

The NWA now invites eligible entities to submit bids to provide the services required for The River Channel Maintenance Activities.

The works include the use of heavy equipment to remove the material from the channel in order to maintain channel capacity. Subsequent disposal of the material will be according to the conditions of a quarry license to be obtained by the successful bidder.

Eligibility: Individuals or entities participation in the procurement shall be in possession of a valid TCC or TRN at the time of submission.

Availability: Request for Tender documents will be made available as of Monday, May 8, 2017, from the National Works Agency, Corporate Office, 140 Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 10 between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm. A non-refundable payment of J$3,000 in cash or Managers’ Cheque payable to the Chief Executive Officer, National Works Agency is required for each set of tender documents.

Return of Tenders: Completed tenders along with the required documents: are to be placed in the tender box marked: “CHANNEL MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES” in the lobby of the National Works Agency, Corporate Office, 140 Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 10. Tenders are to be returned by Monday May 22, 2017 no later than 10:00 a.m.

Tender Opening: The Tenders will be opened at 10:15 a.m., Monday May 22, 2017 in the Main Conference Room, National Works Agency, Corporate Office, 140 Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 10. Tenderers or their representatives are invited at the opening.

All queries concerning the tender document shall be made in writing and addressed to: Miss Krystal Lyn, National Works Agency, Corporate Office, 140 Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 10 and by email to by Thursday May 18, 2017.

Tenders not accompanied by a valid Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) or TRN will be rejected

THE NATIONAL WORKS AGENCY reserves the right not to accept any offer or to annul the tender process and reject all tenders at any time prior to the award without incurring any liability.
