Assignment Description
IFCs Environmental & Social Specialists increasingly face project-level issues related to the use of security forces. We recently initiated a broad work program on security-related issues, and seek firms to assist with ongoing project support and capacity building related to PS4/security issues, particularly in FCS and other challenging contexts. The contracted firm(s) will support E&S Specialists and clients by providing specific expertise on security issues, FCS, and contextual risks. Deliverables include "on-call" project support and capacity building for IFC staff and clients. Specific tasks will depend on demand and will vary, but are likely to include document review, research, consultations, site visits, creation of brief guidance, and training. See for IFC's recently released handbook on PS4 implementation, which provides an indication of relevant issues under PS4 and IFC's approach to assessing and managing security-related risks.
