NIWA has embarked on a project to upgrade its main regional offices and facilities in Wellington, Hamilton and Christchurch by 2022 to ensure they are fit for purpose and meet operational requirements for the next 25-30 years. It is a major program or works that involves demolishing buildings, refurbishing existing buildings and constructing new buildings whilst maintaining operational continuity. The program is expected to take up to five years to complete and cost in the region of $80-100 million.
The purpose of this ROI is to identify interested suppliers that have a proven track record in providing comprehensive project management services for large complex property construction and refurbishment projects. The requirements and scope of project management services is extremely wide and includes managing all aspects of the program, from initial concept planning stages through to completion of capital works. This extends to managing procurement of professional services and construction, contract management and observation, and internal programs and workshops. Accordingly, the supplier must be highly versatile and have considerable depth of resources.
We are looking for Project Management Services providers with the experience, capability and capacity to manage the property upgrade program within desired timelines and provide innovative thinking and solutions to support and deliver on NIWA’s property principles and strategy.
